Mold problems come to council’s notice

Atlanta, GA – The Atlanta City Council will meet Monday night in regular session to discuss items including a mold problem and delay in improvements at the airport.
City Manager Mike Ahrens said the city has a contract with the Texas Department of Transportation to make some improvements at the Atlanta Hall-Miller Airport, but “cannot move forward until some trees encroaching a gliding path are cleared.”
The trees are on property belonging to Jess Hodge, who has been in negotiations with officials to clear the trees but is reluctant to do so. A presentation will be made by Hodge’s attorney Phillip Jordan concerning proposed condemnation of the property.
The Council will also consider a borrowing resolution, plans to correct a mold problem in the city’s fire station and a Special Use Permit to place a HUD Code manufactured house on Oden Street.
