Kentucky Widow Woe
Hi, my name is Nellie Fields of Inez, Ky. my daughter Ann is writing my story. It may not be good enough for you but here goes. $87 million dollars for Iraq, no mercy for a Martin County, Ky widow. Our Government will spend $87 million dollars in Iraq. Yet they will set a 78 year old, blind in one eye, frail and feeble lady out on the street.
Vardie and Nellie struggled for anything they had. Nothing was given to them. Vardie had to go to a nursing home in November 2001, Nellie’s son Danny looked after her, her three girls lives away. Vardie needed 24 hour medical care. Danny got cancer Melanoma and passed away in August of this year. Danny had to file bankrupt because of the medical bills, the girls did not want dad’s or mother’s property so they deeded it to Danny.
The bankruptcy court had discharged the ruling, then found out that Danny had his parents’ property with them both having lifetime rights, then at their death it would go back to Danny and his heirs. Now Nellie has three months to get out of her house that she has lived for her entire life. The bankrupt trustee said she could bid back on the property. How cruel is this person. Mother’s property is not much, but its home to her. Why can’t they let her live there until her death? Vardie died November 7th, the day they buried his Mother.
