My Husband’s Clogged Sinuses Are More that Allergies
After several visits to the doctor with associated rounds of antibiotics, my husband’s stuffy head and deep chest cough did not improve. He then visited a well-respected allergist, who said he was surprised my husband could even breathe, because his sinus cavities are so blocked. Again, antibiotics and this time, steroids. He was better for a few days, then the cough came back with a vengeance.
Last year, my husband tore out a bathroom shower that had developed a leak. He has always considered mold a nuisance, but no big deal – he says it’s everywhere. I, on the other hand, can hardly be around when he mows the grass, or is in the garage with all his stored ‘stuff’. Fungal infection of the sinuses can occur when fungal organisms are inhaled and deposited in the nasal passageways and paranasal sinuses, causing inflammation.
Finally, I convinced him that his problems are mold related, and asked him to try some natural supplements which helped me when I was exposed to moldy pears while I was raking our yard. The product we use is called Candida Combat by ProbiomeRX. It contains Pau D’Arco, Oregano and Astragalus. Black Walnut is also good, but he has an aversion to this product. Also, fungus loves sugar and grains, so he has stopped eating these foods. I’ve read that exercise helps to open the sinuses, but he doesn’t feel well enough to do much exercising at this time.
I will stay in touch to let your readers know how he gets along with these interventions. I am also diffusing eucalyptus essential oil, and Young Living’s Theives oil to help control the fungus and help him breathe better.
Thank you for what you are doing to help folks like me learn more about mold and find ways to help ourselves when our doctors turn a deaf ear. I especially like your article on essential oils.
