Home Builders Undergo State Investigation
Zionsville, IN – State regulators planned to look into complaints about mold problems in upscale houses constructed by one of central Indiana’s largest homebuilders.
The state attorney general’s office has received nine complaints from residents in the Brittany Chase subdivision in Boone County, a development of about 125 homes.
Nearly 100 of the homes in the subdivision were built by Trinity Homes. A lawyer for Trinity said the builder had made repairs to some homes and is willing to consider any evidence or environmental tests that customers can provide.
Many of the complaints are coming from residents who say that mold problems have not been fixed and that their houses face a second or third round of repairs. Lawyers for the state planned to meet with Trinity officials sometime next week.
